Control

Stress and anxiety are part of the majority of our daily lives. The constant “rollercoaster” of life is increasing in speed and some times it all becomes impossible to CONTROL.

However, the issue of control is probably causing the stress and anxiety.

Learning that there is very little in life that we can control is possibly the most important lesson I constantly need to lean and re-learn. If we look at our lives from “above” it becomes evident that the only thing we have real control over is our mind and it is up to us to guard it wisely.

“I’ve had a lot of worries in my life, most of which never happened.”

Mark Twain

EGO

“YOU DON’T HAVE TO TURN THIS INTO SOMETHING. IT DOESN’T HAVE TO UPSET YOU. THINGS CAN’T SHAPE OUR DECISIONS BY THEMSELVES.”

Marcus Aurelius

The above quote by Aurelius is one of my favourites and one I read regularly. In todays World it is easy to become angry and upset but the question is WHY?  Too often it is about what others are saying or what you believe they are saying about you. The fact is you can never control what others do or say and it is only if we allow these thoughts to enter our mind are there going to be issues.

Unfortunately too often we open the gate and let it all come in.

Maybe it is your EGO that is causing you the problems and there is no doubt the Ego is always something we need to be aware of.
